FREEDOMWISE

Docs / Getting Started

Adding Your Data

Freedomwise is only as accurate as your data. This guide explains what to add, what level of detail matters, and what you can skip.

Start with Preferences

Go to My Money → Preferences and set:

  • Current age — used in all projections
  • Target retirement age — used in corpus calculations
  • Annual expenses — your current yearly spend (rent, food, utilities, EMIs, lifestyle)
  • Inflation rate — default 5%; adjust if you expect higher/lower

These four fields unlock most of the platform. Everything else is additive.

Adding assets

Go to My Money → Assets and add your holdings. Freedomwise supports 10 asset types:

Asset typeWhat to enter
Equity / Mutual FundsCurrent value, expected CAGR
EPFCurrent corpus, monthly basic salary
PPFCurrent balance, annual contribution
NPSCurrent corpus, monthly contribution
Fixed DepositsPrincipal, maturity amount or interest rate
GoldCurrent value, expected return
Real EstateCurrent market value (exclude primary home or include it — your choice)
Debt FundsCurrent value, expected return
Bonds / DebenturesCurrent value, coupon rate
Cash / SavingsAmount in savings accounts / liquid funds

Tip: Use round numbers. Exact precision doesn't meaningfully change a 15-year projection. A ₹50L or ₹52.3L estimate gives the same strategic insight.

Adding income and liabilities

Go to My Money → Income & Liabilities:

  • Salary: Monthly take-home (post-tax)
  • Business income: Monthly average if variable
  • EMIs: Amount, interest rate, remaining months — the debt payoff engine uses these
  • SIPs: Ongoing systematic investments

Adding goals

Go to My Money → Goals and add named goals with target amounts and timelines:

  • Emergency fund — 6× monthly expenses, target now
  • Child's education — ₹30L in 12 years
  • Home down payment — ₹20L in 4 years
  • Retirement — computed automatically from your preferences

Goals appear in the Year Planner and feed the AI's planning context.

What you can skip

  • Exact NAVs for every fund — current total value is enough
  • Insurance policies — not used in current score
  • International investments — treat as equity with your expected CAGR

Updating your data

The Freedom Score recalculates each time you visit. Update your data quarterly or when something significant changes (salary hike, new EMI, big purchase).
